What it does
Three things your scalp actually needs — handled by one bottle you keep in the bathroom.
Shikakai and amla clean build-up out of the follicle so new strands have room to come through. Use it twice a week and give it a full cycle.
Fenugreek and mustard seed bring protein and warmth to the root. Strands feel denser at the base instead of thinning out through the length.
Reetha and vitamin E close the cuticle after washing. Less breakage when you comb, less frizz by the end of the day.
The formula
Every jar is ground from whole herbs and seeds. Here is the full list — read it, count it, nothing is hidden behind the word "fragrance".
Senegalia rugata
The original hair-wash pod. Cleans without stripping, so your scalp keeps its own oils.
Phyllanthus emblica
Indian gooseberry, packed with vitamin C. The reason the powder smells sharp and green.
Sapindus mukorossi
Soapnut. It is what makes the strained liquid foam a little — a natural surfactant, not SLS.
Trigonella foenum-graecum
Methi. Protein and mucilage that coat the strand and calm an itchy scalp.
Brassica juncea
Warms the scalp and wakes up circulation at the root. Traditional, and it works.
Tocopherol
An antioxidant that keeps the blend fresh and leaves the lengths soft after rinsing.
The house blend
A small measure of supporting herbs that ties the six together and balances the mix.
Not in the jar
No sulphates.
No parabens.
No silicones.
No artificial colour.
Three steps, ten minutes
The order matters — hot water pulls the actives out of the herbs, and cooling before straining keeps the liquid gentle on your scalp.
Two tablespoons of powder into a cup of just-boiled water. Stir, cover, and leave it to steep.
Let it come down to room temperature on its own, then strain out the grounds through a fine sieve or cloth.
Work the liquid into the roots, leave for 20–30 minutes, and rinse with plain water. Twice a week is enough.
Why rootaora
Most hair products work by coating the strand. This one works by cleaning and feeding the root.

“I like that I can smell exactly what is in it. It smells like a kitchen, not a factory.”
“Ten minutes to brew, twenty to sit. It has become my Friday routine and my ends look thicker.”

Questions
Most people notice less shedding within three to four washes. Visible new growth follows a hair cycle, so give it eight to twelve weeks of steady use before you judge it.
Around eight to ten applications at two tablespoons each — roughly a month if you use it twice a week.
Yes. There is no bleach, ammonia or peroxide in the blend. Because it cleans gently rather than stripping, colour tends to hold longer than with a sulphate shampoo.
It can. Reetha and shikakai are natural cleansers, so many people wash with the strained liquid alone. If you use a lot of styling product, keep a mild shampoo for those days.
The ingredients are food-grade herbs and seeds, applied externally. Even so, if you are pregnant, nursing, or treating a child's scalp condition, check with your doctor first — and patch-test on the inner arm before the first use.
Keep the jar closed, dry and away from direct sun. Because there are no preservatives, use it within six months of opening and never return wet spoons to the powder.
